Sirius is 23 at the opening of the story. He's been teaching since he was 21. The year at story opening is 1983. There is no Peter. Sorry Peter lovers, but he's just too much of a pain and I didn't have any interest in adding drama by leaving him in the story. There's more than enough without him.
